2025  Potomac Pinewood Derby

Eligibility: THE FASTEST CAR FROM EACH DEN OR AN ALTERNATE IN YOUR PACK MAY RACE. LIONS, TIGERS, WOLVES, BEARS, WEBELOS I & ARROW OF LIGHT) are eligible to participate in the Speed category.  In addition, each PACK can send ONE car to join in the Appearance category.  Appearance cars will not race but will be judged in several categories. Bring a camping chair and enjoy the show! 

Awards:

1st, 2nd & 3rd  place (each Den) in the Speed category
1st, 2nd & 3rd place Overall in the Speed category
Appearance category—Best In Show, Judge’s Favorite, Most Unusual, Most Humorous & Most Colorful (one car per pack may enter Appearance Category)

Rules: All Speed Cars must meet the 2025 Potomac District PWD Rules. These are the same rules as 2019-2021 with a couple of clarifications. Racing will be following these rules.

Each PACK must have at least one parent volunteer who will help with the running of the event on race day.  This adult volunteer will be contacted a few weeks before the event with opportunities to help on the day of the event.

Attendance: Parents, sponsoring adults, leaders, friends, guests, and others are welcome on race day.

DATE:              - Saturday, May 3, 2025

PLACE:            - Bells Mill ES, 825 Bells Mill Road, Potomac MD

TIME:               - Registration & Inspection between 9 – 9:50 AM (please arrive early)

                         - Racing begins at 10:00 AM and will finish between noon & 1 PM

COST:              - Registration fee is $10.00 per car
