STEM Summer Workshops 2025

Event Overview
The STEM Committee is delighted to partner with Building Momentum to offer three STEM-focused Workshop this summer!
During Camp 1, Scouts will have the opportunity to earn the Electronics, Model Design and Build, and Entrepreneur Merit Badges and the Next Big Thing Nova Award.
During Camps 2 and 4, Scouts will have the opportunity to earn the Game Design, Composite Materials, Welding and Drafting Merit Badges.
Who Can Attend?
Scouts BSA and friends ages 11-18. Feel free to sign-up with a friend. You do not have to be a Scout to register for these Summer Workshops.

Event Schedule:
Camp 1: June 16-20, 9 AM to 3 PM
Camp 2: July 7-11, 9 Am to 3 PM
Camp 4: August 4-8, 9 AM to 3 PM
Event Requirements and Details
Uniforms: Scouts BSA Should wear Clas A uniform. Attendees for Camps 3 and 4 must wear close-toed shoes and pants covering ankles with no holes and made of at least 70% natural fibers (ie. cotton, denim, linen). This is extremely important; anyone not in appropriate attire will not be permitted to Weld. Building Momentum will provide necessary safety gear.
What to bring:
- Blue card for each Merit Badge signed by the Scoutmaster
- Pencil and notebook
- Water bottle
- Food: Bring your own bag lunch and snacks to enjoy during lunch hour! Please do not bring products with peanuts.
Parents and guardians: are welcomed to volunteer in your Scouts session or elsewhere with the event. Please indicate your volunteer availability/preferences during registration.
Location: Building Momentum | 5380 Eisenhower Ave Suite C, Alexandria, VA 22304
Registration Fee: $635 per week. Early Bird rates run until one week prior to each Workshop. Late fees for regiatration begin 3 days prior to each Workshop.
Merit Badge Completion: BuildMo instructors are Merit Badge Counselors with NCAC and will sign completed blue cards at the end of each Camp. While Scouts have the opportunity to complete each award in its entirety, those who do not may still earn partial credit.
