Arrival Times:

  • Staff ~4:00 PM, Members 6:00 PM, Candidates 6:30-8:00 PM
  • Start Time for Ordeal Candidates: Ceremonies start promptly at 8:00 PM Friday evening

End Time: 

  • Sunday at 11:00 AM

 

All attendees MUST bring their BSA Medical Forms (parts A and B)  including an attached copy of their health insurance card.
 

Elangomats: Members who are interested in being an Elangomat for the Ordeal candidates need to
contact francisscottkeychapter@wipit470.org  prior to registering.

 

Notice to Ordeal Candidates:  All ordeal candidates who have been elected during the election period should have received an invitation
to attend the upcoming ordeal.  If you are not a member of the Francis Scott Key Chapter, please contact Mr. Frome or your chapter adviser before registering.  If you are not sure if you were elected, contact francisscottkeychapter@wipit470.org. If you are unable to participate in your chapter's ordeal, you must contact your chapter adviser or associate adviser to make arrangements before you register to attend another listed ordeal within NCAC.  https://wipit470.org/ordeal.html

 

Candidates selected after January 1, 2023, will have 18 months from the date of election to complete their Ordeal. 
 

Brotherhood: If have been a member for 6 months (before October
26, 2023), you are now eligible to convert to Brotherhood. Brotherhood class and ceremony will be held on Saturday. Current eligible Ordeal members are encouraged to stand for Brotherhood during the weekend. You must arrive by lunchtime (noon) on Saturday
to participate. You can register for the entire weekend or as Day attendee for Saturday.

 

If your dues are not current, you will need to pay
them. (Candidate’s dues are included in the Ordeal costs.) 

Pay your annual dues online.  Pay by March 31, 2024 and dues are
$16.  Dues are $20 after that date.

  • (National Park Service volunteer form). A limited number of forms may be available onsite, but it is not guaranteed. The National Park Service volunteer form attached should be filled out for Youth (under 18) Only A group form to fill out for adults (18+) will be available onsite.
  • Ordeal Weekend Gear: See attached Packing List
    • NOTE: A tent is not required at Camp Misty Mount as we will be using the Cabins.
    • REMEMBER: All clothing should be appropriate for the outdoors and time of year. Remember you should pack for the season; be prepared! Temperatures in the mountains will be lower than in Frederick so plan accordingly.

 

  • BSA Health & Medical Record Form required for all lodge/chapter events.  All Order of the Arrow members/candidates who attend the Ordeal MUST complete the medical form.  (It is the first one on this page; it is used for activities of less than 72 hours. This does not require a doctor’s signature)  

All medications need to be in the original containers with the Scouts' name, dosage requirements (containers will be returned), and with the correct amount of Medication for the weekend. This includes over-the-counter drugs with a signed note from Parent/Guardian with dosage and instructions on time to be taken. Place all containers in a zip-locked bag labeled with the Scouts' name.  All medications shall be turned in during check-in.  If you use an inhaler or EpiPen, please bring a second one (Scout will carry one, and the health center will hold the second.)

BRING THE COMPLETED HEALTH & MEDICAL RECORD FORM WITH A PHOTOCOPY OF BOTH SIDES OF YOUR INSURANCE CARD TO THE ORDEAL, IF THE FAMILY DOES NOT HAVE MEDICAL INSURANCE STATE "NONE."
