OA Lodge Ceremonies Workshop
Amangamek-Wipit Lodge Ceremonies Workshop
At Camp William B. Snyder - Carroll’s Cottage
March 1-3, 2024
The Lodge Ceremonies Workshop is an opportunity for new (want-to-be) ceremonialists and experienced ceremonialists to come and hone their skills to deliver quality Pre-Ordeal and Ordeal ceremonies that will impact and inspire Arrowmen in the ways of the Order of the Arrow.
Ceremonialists will have an opportunity to practice with Arrowmen and perform practice ceremonies.
You will have an opportunity to learn more about the indigenous people, Eastern Woodlands Indians, that live within the National Capital Area Council.
Arrowmen that are interested in supporting ceremonies are encouraged to participate. If you are or want to be an Arrowmen who prepares the ceremony site, supports the ceremony and/or provides post-ceremony support, this will be an opportunity to exchange ideas to provide a better ceremonial environment for candidates to experience their ceremonies. We may also be spending some time with some potential improvements to our current and potentially future ceremony sites.
Good food and OA fellowship will also be part of the program. Arrowmen are encouraged to bring their “traders” and do some patch trading!!
We will utilize Carroll's Cottage and the Cabin(s) for this event. If you prefer tent camping, you may utilize the field close to the shower house.
We encourage all participants to download and bring a printed copy of the Pre-Ordeal/Ordeal ceremony, available at: https://oa-bsa.org/resources/inductions/ceremony-texts
Reading the Pre-Ordeal/Ordeal from your phone is NOT desired - please bring a “Hard Copy”!
Arrowmen interested in providing support for this event should also register. (Kitchen and Dining Room staff)
