The Freeze-o-Ree is an annual Goose Creek District overnight camping event hosted by our District Chapter of the Order of the Arrow. The weekend is filled with fun and skills activities, beginning with camping on Friday night and ending with check-out on Sunday morning (must depart by 10:00 am). Saturday evening's campfire includes Awards presentations too bountiful to adequately describe here.
 
BACKGROUND
A Horde of Yeti's - the famed "Abominable Snowman" has descended upon our beloved Camp Snyder. Are  they  friend  or  foe?  We  must  embrace  Yeti  Mania  with  an  amazing  display  of  Scout  Skills,  Fun,  and  an i ncredible  Campfire,  awesome  enough  to  warm  even  a  Yeti's  cold  hear Troops who embrace the Yeti Theme will get extra points and special surprises!
 
REGISTRATION
Participation in the Freeze-o-Ree is open to all Goose Creek District Scouts. Register and pay online by clicking the green Register buttons on the right side of this page. >>
 
Troops/Crews  should  register  as  a  Unit  (all  participants  under  one  single  bulk  registration).  OA  Staff  can  register  as  individuals  (not  registered  with  the  Unit).  However,  the  cost  per  person  is  the  same  -  $22  each.  Staff  who  are  camping  and  eating  with  their  Troops  should  register  with  them.  Staff  who  are  camping  and  eating  with  the  OA  should  register  as  Staff.  There  will  be  no  non-staff  individual  registrations.  If  you  are  a  small  group  or  individual  that  needs  help  connecting  with  another  Troop  to  partner, please let the organizers know and we’ll help! .
 
THE DEADLINE FOR ALL REGISTRATIONS IS MIDNIGHT, JANUARY 23, 2024. This includes all additions, subtractions and substitutions to all registrations. There is NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION - all participants must register and pay ONLINE
 
HEALTH/SAFETY
All  Staff  should  bring  their  BSA Health and Medoical Records. Parts A+B.  All  participants  should  have  their  health  forms  filed with their units. There will be a designated First Aid provider on site at all times.
 
PROGRAM
Saturday's program at the Freeze-o-Ree will include events of Competition and Skill for Scouts between Patrols representing Scouts from the participating Units. Each event at the Freeze-o-Ree will be based on the Patrol's ability to work together as a team, their general Scout skills and their Scout Spirit. Those who gather the most points during the day will reap handsome Awards at the evening festivities. The  annual  Chili  Cookoff  returns  for  2023  -  every  Patrol  should  bring  their  best.  Adults  can  participate i n  a  separate  category,  with  chili  to  feed  the  hardiest Yeti!
