Arrival Times: Staff ~4:00 PM, Members 6:00 PM, Candidates 6:30-8:00 PM
Start Time for Ordeal Candidates: Ceremonies start promptly at 8:00 PM Friday evening
End Time: Sunday at 11:00 AM
All attendees MUST bring their BSA Medical Forms (parts A and B) including an attached copy of their health insurance card.
Elangomats: Members that are interested in being an Elangomat for the Ordeal candidates need to contact francisscottkeychapter@wipit470.org prior to registering.
Notice to Ordeal Candidates: All ordeal candidates that have been elected during the election period should have received an invitation to attend the upcoming ordeal. If you are not a member of the Francis Scott Key Chapter, please contact Mr. Frome or your chapter adviser before registering. If you are not sure if you were elected, contact francisscottkeychapter@wipit470.org.
Brotherhood: current eligible Ordeal members are encouraged to stand for Brotherhood during the weekend. You must arrive by 3 PM on Saturday to participate. You can register as a full weekend participant or Saturday day-only participant. If you can ONLY come for Brotherhood ceremony, you don’t need to register but please email Adviser Pender so we’re prepared for your participation.
Ordeal Weekend Gear:
- Waterproof ground cloth/sheet (tarp) (candidates/elangomats)
- Sleeping bag
- Water bottle
- Insect repellent & Sunscreen
Your remaining gear should include the following:
- Complete Boy Scout uniform (shirt, pants, belt, socks, neckerchief, & hat)
- Work clothes, work gloves, and hat (some work projects will involve work that will potentially soil your clothing; To avoid poison ivy, please consider long-sleeve shirts and long pants)
- Masks (as desired)
- Personal size hand sanitizer
- Pillow
- Jacket/windbreaker
- Multiple pairs of socks
- Change(s) of underwear
- Rain gear (a scout is prepared)
- Flashlight with extra batteries
- Sturdy boots or work shoes
- OA Sash (current members)
NOTE: A tent is not required at Camp Misty Mount as we will be using the Cabins.
REMEMBER: All clothing should be appropriate for the outdoors and time of year. Remember you should pack for the season; be prepared! Temperatures in the mountains will be lower than Frederick so plan accordingly.
