ADDITIONAL INFO FOR ORDEAL CANDIDATES AND PARENTS
Sully Chapter Ordeal Candidates: You should have received an invitation to attend this ordeal.
Non-Sully Chapter Ordeal Candidates: You need to have arranged your attendance at this out-of-Chapter Ordeal with your Chapter Adviser.
Ordeal Candidate Parents Information Opportunity: Parents of candidates are invited to attend an information session to learn about the Order of the Arrow at 9:00 pm Friday. Session will be outdoors. Dress appropriately and bring flashlight and lawn chair (at your option).
Ordeal Candidate Packing List: Bring your gear for the weekend in two separate packs, duffels, and/or bags. What you’ll need for Friday night either worn or packed for easy carrying: mask, clothing appropriate for the overnight weather, sleeping bag, tarp big enough to fit completely under and over yourself when lying down, insect repellent, headlamp or flashlight, and full water bottle. What you’ll need for Saturday: extra mask, clothing appropriate for dirty work (and the weather), work gloves, field uniform (Class A), and lawn chair or camp chair/stool.
ADDITIONAL INFO FOR MEMBERS BY ROLE AND REGISTRATION TYPE
Elangomats: Members serving as Elangomats for the Ordeal candidates should have been pre-arranged with the Ordealmaster (ordealmaster@oasullychapter.org) or Chapter Adviser. You’ll need a password to register. Pack like a candidate (see above). Arrive fed.
Ordeal Staff and other Weekend Members: Come prepared as you would for a camping weekend. You’ll need a tent. Everyone is sleeping outside. Bring a lawn chair or camp chair/stool. Arrive fed.
Day Only Members: Members are welcome to come join the candidates in service, ceremony, and fellowship. Dress for the weather, work, and ceremony (i.e., bring your sash). Have a mask. Bring a lawn chair or camp chair/stool.
Brotherhood Conversion Only Members: Sully Chapter Ordeal members eligible for conversion to Brotherhood should have received an invitation to convert. If you’re eligible, but didn’t receive an invitation, either you haven’t paid your 2021 Lodge dues or we don’t have your current email address. If a matter of not having paid your dues, do that ASAP. It can take a few days to post to your record for verification. To prepare for conversion, you’re encouraged to read the “Brotherhood Membership” section of your OA Handbook ahead of time. You’re further encouraged to arrive with your Brotherhood Challenge 5 letter in hand (i.e., prepared ahead of time). Otherwise, bring a clipboard or paper pad to write on. Wear your field uniform (Class A). Bring a lawn chair or camp chair/stool.
Feast Only Members: Members are welcome to attend just the Brotherhood and/or Ordeal ceremonies and join the resulting new members for dinner (not quite a feast this time). Bring a lawn chair or camp chair/stool. Saturday (10/23) ceremonies are scheduled 1:00 for Brotherhood and 3:00 for Ordeal.
