2019 Pinewood Derby

Eligibility: THE FASTEST CAR (ONLY) FROM EACH DEN IN YOUR PACK (LIONS, TIGERS, WOLVES, BEARS, WEBELOS I & ARROW OF LIGHT) are eligible to participate in the Speed category.  In addition, each PACK can send ONE car to participate in the Appearance category.  Appearance cars will not race, but will be judged for a number of categories.

Awards:

1st, 2nd & 3rd  place (each Den) in the Speed category
1st, 2nd & 3rd place Overall in the Speed category
Appearance category—Best In Show, Judge’s Favorite, Most Unusual, Most Humorous & Most Colorful

Rules: All Speed Cars must meet the 2019 Potomac District PWD Rules. These are the same rules as 2018 with a couple of clarifications. Racing will be in accordance with these rules.

Each PACK must have at least one parent volunteer who will help with the running of the event on race day.  This adult volunteer will be contacted a few weeks before the event with opportunities to help on the day of the event.

Attendance: Parents, sponsoring adults, leaders, friends, guests, and others are welcome on race day.

DATE:              - Saturday, May 11, 2019

PLACE:            - Our Lady of Mercy School, 9222 Kentsdale Drive, Potomac MD 20854

TIME:               - Registration & Inspection between 9 – 9:50 AM (please arrive early)

- Racing begins at 10:00 AM and will finish between noon & 1 PM

COST:              - Registration fee is $40.00 per pack (covers 6 speed entries and 1 appearance entry)
