Troop 501 will be selling lunch combos for $5.00. Bring cash.

5:00 PM Youth dismissed to their adult leaders (some classes may conclude earlier)
  Scouts should arrive early to check-in and attend the opening ceremony.
  We ask that one adult from each unit stay at Freedom HS to handle any issues that might arise.

 

 

 

 

 

 

This year we have following merit badge classes, which includes Eagle Required badges and other merit badges such as American Business, Chess, Citizenship in the Community / Nation / World, Coin Collecting, Communications, Digital Technology, Electricity, Emergency Preparedness, Engineering, Fingerprinting, First Aid (Scouts will need to bring their own personal first aid kit or they will not be able to participate), Law, Leatherwork, Personal Management, Public Health, Public Speaking and Radio!!

 

As always, per BSAguidelines, Scouts should obtain and read the merit badge pamphlet before attending to Be Prepared and fully participate. Click here for Scout Store.

 

Lunch News!!

Troop 501 will be selling lunch combos for $5.00. Bring cash.

Scouts and Merit Badge Counselors may bring a sack lunch with drink. 

Troops may bring lunch materials for their Scouts and keep them in a cooler and distribute food during lunch time.

 

NO SCOUTS will be allowed to leave Freedom High School to pursue outside lunches.

There are NO EATING ESTABLISHEMENTS within walking distance from the High School.

 A snack concession will be available all day with a pay cash as you go basis.

Scouts should bring no more than $10-$15 for morning and/or afternoon snacks.

The Occoquan registration website has workbooks available for all merit badges.  Scouts should bring the merit badge pamphlet and the workbooks to class.  Ensure name and troop are on each document

Scoutmaster/ASM Specific Training will be offered. Current YPT required.

CPR with AED for Adults will also be offered.  Register for the class and bring $20.00 to pay in the class.

Merit Badges are first come, first served by registration.  For Merit Badge classes, a waitlist for "Full" classes will be established. However, this is no way guarantees a seat in a class. If additional instructors volunteer, classes will be filled from existing waitlist's. To guarantee attendance, recommend Scouts sign-up for classes that are not full. If a Scout is moved from wait-list to a class, an email will be sent to the registration email.

During registration to select classes, look for the Select Schedule, Morning Classes / Afternoon Classes link, and select the classes available. During registration and class selection, pay particular attention to RED "Information Needed" links.

Classes that have Pre-Requisites that must be completed before class.  Bring the completed requirements to class to receive credit. Please see the note on prerequisites required prior to class when selecting classes.  

Each Scout must bring a Scout Master signed/approved Blue Card.

 

By registering for this event you agree to allow group photographs of class settings to be released for promotional highlights.

Standard of Conduct

We are visitors to Freedom High School and will conduct ourselves in a Scouting manner.

No running, shouting or throwing objects anywhere on School property.

The Class A or Class B Scout Uniform (Scoutmaster discretion) is the uniform for the day. 

Scout Shirts or Scout T-shirts will be properly tucked in during classroom presentation and in hallways.
