Chain Bridge District Annual Meeting

You are invited to Chain Bridge District’s Annual Meeting to be held at 7:30 pm on Thursday 12/6/18 at St. Agnes Church 1910 N Randolph St, Arlington.  Voting members consist of: (1) you, the Chartered Organization Representative (COR) of each unit in Chain Bridge District, and (2) District Committee members at large.  A short end-of-year District Committee meeting will immediately follow the Annual Meeting.

The Nominating Committee has filled the most critical positions on the District Committee  (see proposed slate here) but continues to need more unit participation to develop a “deep bench” for program for the BSA youth of Arlington and McLean.   We are especially interested in recruiting a District Popcorn Kernel (if you have an idea for someone who might do this, please contact us).

Chain Bridge has a strong culture of contributing leadership for the common good. If you want your units to stay connected with the larger world of scouting, a great way to do it is to have one of your volunteers pitch in and help your district’s committee.  There, your volunteer will learn latest developments as soon as they happen, as well as all sorts of useful information about scouting in our area and opportunities for your scouts and volunteers, to bring back to your unit. The District does so many things for your units: Roundtables, Adult Training, Pinewood Derby, Camporalls, Camporees – essentially anything that requires inter-unit cooperation and teamwork across units in the district. The District Committee can especially use your all’s help in critical areas such as training and program.

District Committee meetings are generally held the third Thursday of each month from 7:30 to 9 pm at St. Agnes Church in Arlington.  Agendas are published in advance.  Meetings are conducted in a businesslike and orderly fashion to efficiently disseminate information, reach decisions and act.
