Aquia District - Luminaria Sand Bagging

No Registration Needed
2018 Luminaria Sand Bagging
The Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Friends of the Fredericksburg Area Battlefields (FoFAB), and the National Park Service, work together each year on Memorial Day Weekend, to honor the 15,300 soldiers who were laid to rest in the Fredericksburg National Cemetery. It takes a tremendous amount of labor to make this event happen, and even if groups are unavailable the weekend of the event, there are many things that need to be done before hand. SOME 17,000 BAGS (including those that line the walk-ways) MUST BE CUFFED TWICE ALONG THE TOP, so they will stand open during the event. We are asking Troops/Packs to contact the following individuals to receive their bundles of 250 or 500, and return them by mid-March to these individuals or to Roundtable Meetings :
Boy Scouts & Cub Scouts in the Mattaponi District - Jack & Kim Walmer – jkwalmer@aol.com
Boy Scouts & Cub Scouts in the Aquia District – Jennifer Bell – cajnbell4@verizon.net
Girl Scouts in the Spotsylvania and Fredericksburg area - Tammy Schoenhardt – scoutfamily4mom@aol.com
