Why is the Den Chief's role so critical? The Den Chief bridges Cub Scouting and Scouts BSA, mentoring younger Scouts and developing essential leadership skills. Packs thrive when strong Den Chiefs guide their Cubs, and Troops benefit from Scouts who refine their leadership abilities before taking on higher responsibilities. Den Chiefs play a crucial role in transitioning and recruiting Cub Scouts into Troops, ensuring a steady flow of engaged, prepared new members. Adult leaders also play a key role in fostering this connection, making their participation in this training just as important!

Join us for an exciting, hands-on Den Chief Training where you’ll learn everything you need to lead, inspire, and mentor younger Cub Scouts! This is your chance to become a role model, gain valuable leadership experience, and have an awesome time doing it.

Who can attend?

• Cub Scout Packs looking to strengthen their program by implementing Den Chiefs.
• Scouts BSA who want to serve as Den Chiefs (it is recommended Scouts  be active in their troops for at least one year before serving as Den Chiefs).
• Adult Leaders & Scouters who want to learn how to work with and support Den Chiefs in their troops & packs.

What to Bring?

• Pen and notepad, Den Chief Handbook if you own it.
• Scout essentials.

What to Wear?

• Complete field uniform.

Who can attend?

• Anyone older than 18 years old must have the YPT to date.
• Online Den Chief training is required for Scouts and Scout Leaders.
