Aquia Chapter Spring Ordeal and Brotherhood Conversion
May 1-3, 2026
Where: Izaak Walton League, 2729 Garrisonville Rd, Stafford, VA. 22556.
(Please be sure to check your email prior to coming with guidance on how to get onto the property).
Ordeal Candidates
- Check-in Time : Friday, May 1, 2026 at 6:00 pm-7:00 pm
- Check-out/Pick-up Time: Sunday, May 3, 2026 8:00 am
OA Members (Staffers/Elangomats)
- Check in Time: Friday, May 1, 2026 4:30pm-5:30 pm
- Check out Time: Sunday, May 3, 2026. 9:30 am.
Brotherhood Conversion
- Check-in Time for those coming to do Brotherhood Conversion:
- Saturday, May 2, 2026 3:30 pm with expected end time of 7:00 pm including Feast.
(If you did your Ordeal prior to November 2 , 2025, then you have met the time requirement).
Feast Only
- Please arrive by 5:30 pm on Saturday so you can be checked in. Approximate time of Feast Serving is 6:00 pm.
Check -In Time:
- Your driver will need to come to the registration area and check-in. Driver needs to stay until check-in is completed. All paperwork must be printed and turned in upon arrival/check-in to the Ordeal. You'll check-in in your Field uniform/Class A uniform.
Check-out Time:
- You must remain on the property until you are checked-out by the Adult Health and Safety Officer. You will receive your Health Forms back as your ticket to leave.
Registration Details:
- All registrations must be completed online no later than April 29, 2026 by 11:59 pm.
- You will need to provide your Scouting America Membership ID (the number on your registration card--also available from your unit). Be sure you put your name that matches your Scouting America Membership.
- Please share any medical needs or information, dietary restrictions, and allergies so we can plan in advance.
Cost:
- Ordeal Candidates $70 (includes food for the weekend, Order of the Arrow sash, handbook, Lodge Pocket Flap Patch, and annual dues).
- Lodge Members (Staffers for Full Weekend) $28
- Lodge Members (Staffers for Saturday only) $ 25
- Brotherhood Conversion $ 15 (includes Feast)
- Feast Only $15
- Elangomat $ 23 (Contact Mrs. Moran for approval/password)
What to bring?
All attendees need to bring:
- -BSA annual Health and Medical Record (Parts A & B, as well as a copy of their health insurance card.
- -Lodge Code of Conduct Form (See "Attachments" to the right)
- -Izaak Walton Release Form (See "Attachments to the right)
- -Any needed medications for the weekend.
- All medications need to be in the original containers with the Scouts' name, dosage requirements (containers will be returned), and with the correct amount of Medication for the weekend. This includes over the counter drugs with a signed note from the Parent/Guardian with dosage and instructions on the time to be taken. Place all containers in a zip-locked bag labeled with the Scouts' name. All medication shall be turned in during check-in. If you use an inhaler or EpiPen, please bring a second one (Scout will carry one and the health officer will hold the second).
Candidate and parent/guardian information meeting
- All Candidates and a parent/guardian are encouraged to attend The Zoom link will be provided once you register.
- All attendees should eat dinner on Friday before arriving--there will be no dinner served on Friday.
- All attendees should arrive in uniform (Field Uniform/Class A)
- Please take note of the weather forecast and bring appropriate clothing. Layers are always a good idea.
Ordeal Candidates We recommend Ordeal Candidates pack their gear in 2 bags.

- Sleeping Bag
- Sleeping Pad
- Waterproof groundsheet/Tarp (at least 8x10 or 2 smaller tarps)
- Rain Jacket/Poncho
- Flashlight/Headlamp
- Reusable Water Bottle
- Insect Repellant
- Wear Sturdy Boots
Second Gear Bag
- Tent
- Work Clothes, including work gloves. (To avoid poison ivy, consider long-sleeve shirts and long pants.)
- Change of clothes. Be prepared for the weather/season. (Casual/Class B)
- Pajamas
- Rain Gear
- Towel/Toiletries
- Sunscreen
- Jacket/Fleece
Do not bring:
**No Cell Phones or electronic devices allowed (including smart watches)
**Knives, Radios, or other electronic equipment.
Information for those eligible for Brotherhood Conversion--Wear your Ordeal Sash along with Field Uniform/Class A. Bring appropriate weather gear. Your dues must be current to go through Brotherhood.
Youth Transportation---If your Scout will be riding with someone other than the parent/guardian, be sure that your medical form has proper documentation of what adults can drive the youth.
Youth Drivers are prohibited. You must be 18 years of age or older. (Guide to Safe Scouting-Transportation Rule #5).
