NCAC STEM is hosting an event for Scouts BSA to earn the Chemistry merit badge on Saturday, April 11, 2026

They will host the event at Sally's STEM Shack at Camp William B. Snyder, Haymarket, VA.

Class Overview

The Chemistry Merit Badge has recently been updated! Explore the new exciting new requirements during this workshop.

Event Schedule

The session will run from 8 AM to 3 PM

Chemistry

Chemistry explores how substances react with each other, how they change, how certain forces connect molecules, and how molecules are made are all parts of chemistry. Stretch your imagination to envision molecules that cannot be seen—but can be proven to exist—and you become a chemist. The field trip is TBD.

Prerequisites

Requirements #5, 6, and 7 are prerequisites. We will discuss these during the Workshop so coming ready with the information is essential.

Uniforms: SBSA should wear Class A uniform. 

What to bring with you on April 11:

Blue card filled out and signed by your SM

Pencil and notebook

Merit badge book

Water bottle/lunch/snacks

Directions and Parking: Camp William B. Snyder is located at 6100 Antioch Road, Haymarket, VA 20169. See attached map for directions to Sally’s STEM Shack. Parking is available to the right of the building.

Registration Fee: Early Bird registration (deadline April 1), $25; Regular registration (deadline April 6), $30; Late registration (deadline April 10) $35.
