Swiftwater Rescue - Lower Antietam

Saturday June 6, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
Maximum 24 students.
Cost $15.
Class will be taught on the Lower Antietam. Open to adults and scouts 14+*. Meet at Rohrbach Group Campground. This class is complementary to Paddle Craft Safety, but can be taken before or after PCS. We will cover the 7 essentials of SWR: Swimming in current, rope rescue (throwing and catching), boat-based rescue, rescue wading, tethered rescue, knots & mechanical advantage, and rescue leadership. We will spend significant time in the water, please dress appropriately! Closed toed shoes required. Scouts must have Swimming Merit Badge. Late afternoon sessions will be scenarios where teams will work together. Option for night ops if enough interest.
