Four Mile Run District Pinewood Derby

Event Details:

On March 14, 2026, the Four Mile Run District will host the District Pinewood Derby to crown our district rank champions. The Pinewood Derby will have two competitions: the Speed Competition and the Design Competition.

Speed Competition

Each Pack in the Four Mile Run District can send ONE scout per rank (Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos, and AOL) to race and determine the District Rank Champion.

The entry fee for the Speed Competition is $15. The deadline for entry in the Speed Competition is Monday, March 9th. Note that scouts or their parents do NOT pay for or register the speed entrants individually – each pack has a Pack Coordinator who handles the payment and registration for the entire Pack.

Design Competition

For the Design Competition, scouts from the Packs of the Four Mile Run District will compete for the best design per rank (Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos, and Arrow of Light).

The entry fee for the Design Competition is $15. While pre-registration is necessary for the Speed Competition, Scouts DO NOT need to be pre-registered for the District Design Competition. Simply register your car during your rank’s check in/registration period (below) and pay the $15 entry fee. There is no limit to the number of scouts that a Pack can enter for the Design Competition. New in 2026: Speed Competition entrants may choose to also enter their car in the Design Competition! Simply pay the $15 Design Competition entry fee during check-in on race day.

Refer to the 4MR District Pinewood Derby Rules for more information. Scouts must be physically present for the entirety of the check-in/inspection and Rank Division race in order to participate.
