Scouting America Chainsaw Safety Course
In order to use a chain saw of any type on Scouting America Property you must be certified in the new chain saw safety course put out by National BSA. A course is being offered at Rodney Scout Reservation. There are two weekends to choose from, October 10-12 and November 14-16. You only need to attend one weekend
The course is a weekend course which will teach you the proper operation of a chain saw, including maintenance, limbing, bucking , and felling.
There is no charge for the course, but meals are not included. Lodging is available at no additional cost.
You will need a good pair of leather gloves, long sleeve shirt, pants, and boots to take the course. Personal protective equipment will be provided.
MUST BE over the age of twenty-one (21) to take the course. DO NOT bring a saw with you .
