Note from the Instructor
Because there is a lot of material that gets covered in this merit badge beside the climbing, I would like for you to complete the climbing merit badge workbook. Since scouting requires and has more regulations, it is imperative that you use the Climbing Merit Badge book. The merit badge book can be found on line. The workbook is in the attachment section of this page and is named "Climbing". You should download the workbook and fill in the answers as you read the merit badge book. *Just a warning if you try and google the answers, they will not be correct. This means you will not be getting a signed blue card for climbing.
Also, you need to practice the knots that are listed in the merit badge book. They are the figure eight follow throw, figure eight on a bite and the safety knot which is also known as the fisherman knot. These three knots are required before you can start climbing. The water knot we will teach that day because it is tied with webbing.
I am looking forward helping you complete your climbing Merit Badge.
