The Henson Summer Merit Badge College is an extended merit badge college set in a Scout Camp setting with camping. Don’t worry about having to pitch a tent. We will have tents set for you with cots and to add to the simplicity we are cooking too! So just bring your troop, some of your essentials, a positive scout spirit and enjoy the weekend. Having trouble coming up with a second leader? Let us know and we’ll partner you up with another troop, so the two deep leadership is covered.

Thursday arrival starts at 1pm. You can arrive at anytime, hopefully before the opening campfire at 8:45pm. For those arriving closer to 1pm, there will be plenty of time to settle in and enjoy some open program time. Merit Badge Classes will be held Friday and Saturday followed by open programs in the evening. On Sunday there will be time to follow up with the counselors and to finish up what you can. A closing flag ceremony and a grab and go lunch will follow.

There are two weekends to choose from. You can attend one or both. There will be some difference in merit badge offerings between the two weekends. Some of the classes being offered will include rifle, shotgun, welding, plumbing, and fishing. As additional Merit Badge Counselors are secured and we expand our offerings, we will update the schedule to reflect the additions. Merit Badge selection will open on May 17 at 9am..
