Registration closes on Tuesday, March 17 at 11:59 pm.

Registration should be completed by the unit leader and not individual Scouts or families unless there is only one Scout from the unit attending. 

Required Adult Supervision

  1. If multiple Scouts from your troop are participating, your troop must provide two registered adults, over the age of 21, to provide supervision for your Scouts.
    1. Be sure you follow Safeguarding Youth policies and procedures. 
    2. If your troop serves female Scouts, at least one of the adult leaders onsite must be female. 
  2. If only one Scout is participating from your troop, the Scout's at least one of the Scout's parents must remain on site to provide supervision.

  2. Health Form Parts A & B

Cost: The event fee is $13.00

Registration & Merit Badge Enrollment Open Dates:

  • Old North State Council Scouts - Monday, January 12 at 8:00 am

Registration Limit:

  • The maximum number of Scouts who can participate in this event is 150.
  • Each merit badge session is limited to 20 Scouts. 

Program:

  • Instruction begins at 9:00 am and ends at 3:00 pm
  • Scouts BSA may enroll in 1 merit badge section for the day or Scouts BSA may enrill in 2 half-day merit badges.
  • Scouts BSA merit badge offerings:
  1. Archaelogy - All Day
  2. Citizenship in the Nation - All Day
  3. Citizenship in the World - Afternoon
  4. Collections and Fingerprinting - Morning
  5. Dentistry - Morning
  6. Engineering - All Day
  7. Geology - Morning
  8. Health Care Professions - Afternoon
  9. Law - Afternoon
  10. Mining in Society - Afternoon
  11. Programming - Available Morning and Afternoon as half-day session
  12. Public Health - Morning
  • Some merit badges have requirements that will not be covered during the merit badge college. 
    • See the Class Prerequirements Report under the "REPORTS" near the top left on your event reservation page
  • Adults can complete the following trainings:
    • Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Specifics (S24)
    • Committee Chair Training (WS10)
    • Committee Member Training( WS10)
    • Merit Badge Counselor Training (D76)
    • Hazardous Weather Training (Need your My.Scouting username and password)

Schedule:

8:00 AM - Check-in opens

9:00 AM - Opening Ceremony

9:30 AM - Merit badge/Activity/Training instruction begins

12:00 PM - Break for lunch

12:30 PM - Merit badge/Activity/Training resumes

3:00 PM - Merit badge/Activity/Training ends

3:30 PM - All participants depart Rockingham Community College

Lunch:

  • Lunch is not included
  • Attendees need to bring their own lunch and snacks.
  • Attendees must follow Rockingham Community College's policies regarding approved dining area.

Post-Event Advancement Paperwork:

  • At the end of the merit badge college, the merit badge instructors will communicate a Scout's progress towards completing the merit badge using the Unit Advancement Detail Report.
    • The Unit Advancement Detail Report is accessible under the "REPORT" tab, located near the top left of your event reservation page.
  • Black Pug will generate a .CSV file that can be imported into Scoutbook or Troopmaster.
    • The .CSV file will load the requirements the Scouts completed.
    • You can generate the Scoutbook or Troopmaster Upload .CSV file under the "REPORT" tab, located near the top left of your event reservation page.
    • Directions on how to upload the .CSV file into Scoutmaster or Troopmaster are available under the REPORTS tab above.
  • This event does not issue blue cards.
    • If your council requires the use of a blue card, you can generate a blue card using the Blue Card report accessible under the "REPORT" tab, located near the top left of your event reservation page.
