Beaver Day at Cherokee 2022

Event Details

2022 Beaver Day at Cherokee

Saturday, April 30, 2022

The annual beaver day signals that summer camp is almost here. During the beaver day, Scouters gather at Cherokee to address maintenance issues and damage that has occurred during the winter to ensure camp is ready and safe for our Scouts during summer camp. This can't be done without lots of hands.

Older Scouts, Scouters, and Parents are invited to participate in Beaver Day events.

Scouters with skills in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or other trades are especially encouraged to attend

There is no cost.

Lunch will be provided.

Come prepared to work with gloves, and suitable shoes/boots.  Bring personal protective equipment (earplugs, safety glasses, safety boots, etc.) if you have it.

Bring equipment with you such as weedeaters and leaf blowers.  Remember, only adults are permitted to operate powered equipment.

Chain saw usage is restricted to those who have completed the BSAS Chain Saw Safety and Operation Course.

To ensure we are prepared for you, please register by 11:59 pm on Tuesday, April 26.

Beaver Day participants will need to bring a copy of their BSA Health and Medical Record Parts A & B. Forms will be returned at the end of the event. Forms that are not picked up will be shredded.

Arrive between 8:00 am and 8:30 am.

Go directly to the main parking lot to participate in the pre-event health screening.

Work projects will begin at 8:30 am.

Work projects will end at 5:00 pm.

Questions can be directed to Camp Director Bud Harrelson at bud.harrelson@scouting.org
