The 2024 Cub Scout Leader Extravaganza focuses on the national program updates to the Cub Scout program effective June 1, 2024.

The event is limited to 150 Cub Leaders.

Each pack is encouraged to send at least one representative. Ideally, each pack will have a group of den leaders and pack leaders attending.

What will happen during Cub Scout Leader Extravaganza?

  • The event starts with a whole-group session that highlights the significant updates to the program.
  • The morning breakout sessions will focus on den specific content. There will be sessions on Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos, and Arrow of Lights. These sessions will focus on required and elective adventures, den leader resources, sample handbook pages, uniform requirements, adult-to-Scout ratios, camping requirements, and uniforms.
  • Lunch will be a blue and gold dinner that models community-building strategies within your pack. The mealtime presentation will share best practices for implementing the program updates in your pack.
  • The afternoon sessions will focus on building content knowledge and skills to teach the new adventures to your Cubs.
  • The last session of the day will be a whole-group session focused on the council's Cub Scout outdoor program and how it supports the implementation of the program updates. The closing session will also serve as the Summer Camp Kick-off for Cub Scout Resident Camp.
  • At the end of the day, our council Cub Scout task force members will remain for a post-event question-and-answer session to ensure everyone's questions are answered.
  • In addition to the topics outlined above, we will offer youth protection training and Cub Scout leader-specific training twice...once in the morning and once in the afternoon.

Who are the presenters?

  • Cub Scout leaders just like you who are experienced in the area they are facilitating.
