Venturing Ascent Experience

Registration closes on Tuesday, April 7 at 11:59 pm.
Registration must be completed by the crew, not as individuals.
What is the ASCENT experience?
The ASCENT experience is designed to provide venturers within the Old North State Council an opportunity to fellowship with their fellow crew members, as well as with other crews in the council. The event is sure to be a keystone experience for a venturer along their “ascent” towards the Summit Award.
Venturers can also expect:
- Time for fellowship with other venturers
- Competitive and adventurous activities
- Opportunities to take home recognitions for their crew

- Five Stand Shotgun
- Land Navigation / Teambuilding Course
- Pioneering Challenge “raise the flag”
- Backpacking Iron Chef Contest
Required Paperwork for Everyone:
- Pre-event Medical Screening Form
- Annual Health & Medical Record Parts A & B
- Range and Target Activities Hold Harmless Form
Event Fee:
- Youth Participant - $27.00
- Adult Participant - $5.00
- Youth Staff - $5.00
- Adult Staff - $5.00
Arrival:
- Check-in starts at 8:00 am on Saturday, April 11, in the Cheyenne Shelter
- Overnight camping is available on Friday, April 10
- You must indicate your crew's plan to camp overnight on Friday, April 10, during registration
Departure:
- The closing ceremony starts at 3:30 pm on Saturday, April 11.
- All participants must depart camp prior to 4:00 pm on Saturday, April 11.

- 9:00 am - Opening Flag
- 9:30 am - Morning Program Block 1
- 11:00 am - Morning Program Block 2
- 12:30 pm - Lunch
- 1:30 pm - Afternoon Program Block 1
- 2:30 pm - Afternoon Program Block 2
- 3:30 pm - Closing Flag
- 4:00 pm - Departure
Adult Supervision Requirements:
- Each crew must have two adult leaders who are over-21 years of age, registered members of Scouting America as a unit leader with the crew they will supervise, have a completed criminal background check, and hold an unexpired Safeguarding Youth certification.
- If female Venturers participate with the crew, at least one of the adult leaders over the age of 21 must be female.
Safeguarding Youth:
- All of Scouting America's Safeguarding Youth policies and practices will be followed.
