Summer Cub Fun! each month this summer (June, July, and August) will have a Day Hike/Walk learning about outdoor safety and ways we can have fun in nature and our communities. Each Hike/Walk will have a unique Patch to collect and will be hosted in a different county in the Southern part of our Council. The cost per Hike is just 5 dollars a person.  Families and potential new Scouts are welcome to participate, there is also an option for adults to register at no cost. Register for each hike you and your family would like to attend. 

June Hike: Saturday June 15th starting at 9:00am Location: (Purgatory Trail, Asheboro, NC 27205) This hike will offer a more traditional opportunity for our scouts to explore nature. This trail is accessed in the NC Zoo parking lot so after our hike you can plan a visit to the North Carolina Zoo, the largest natural habitat zoo in the world.

July Hike: Saturday July 20th starting 9:00am. Location: First United Methodist Church of Lexington (310 S Main Street, Lexington, NC 27292) Our walk will begin behind the church parking lot located behind the church. This walk will be an opportunity for Scouts and participants to learn how to safely travel in a city environment. We will get to meet some people that keep our communities safe.

August Hike: Saturday August 17th starting at 9am. Location: Farmington Community Center (1723 Farmington Rd, Mocksville, North Carolina 27028) This Walk/Hike will show Scouts and families that additional activities can be incorporated into our outdoor walks. We will learn about the sport of Disc Golf, and how this activity can be a fun way to explore our parks.
