Akela District Reunion Breakfast

The Scouting trail does not end when you age out, it just leads to a new vantage point. The Akela District Committee is calling on our local Scouting America Alumni to join us Saturday May 2nd for a reunion breakfast and share our vision for the future of our youth.

As someone who knows the value of the Scout Oath and Law, your experience is our greatest asset. This breakfast is more than a reunion; it’s a strategic briefing on how we can collectively strengthen the movement.

Our Focus Areas

We will be discussing three critical pillars where your involvement can have a direct impact:

Fundraising for the Future: Ensuring every child can join Scouting, regardless of financial barriers. We'll share our 2026 district financial goals.

District Program Support: Scaling our impact. We need the "SME" (Subject Matter Experts) for merit badge colleges, district camporees, unit commissioners and training the next generation of adult leaders.

Unit-Level Support: Getting back to the grass roots. Growing the Scouting membership is our top priority! Your "boots on the ground" experience is vital to the success of our program!

Scouting is evolving, and while the methods adapt to a modern world, our mission remains the same. We need your help to ensure our local programs are robust, well-funded, and exciting for today’s Scouts. Please join us to hear our mission to advance the scouting program in the Akela District!

When: Saturday, May 2nd from 8:30am – 11am, breakfast served at 9am.

Where: Wesley Memorial Church, downstairs in the main dining room.
