The Old North State Council is pleased to offer an adult unit leader Saltwater Fishing training opportunity to increase your unit’s scouting adventure opportunities. This course is designed for unit leaders to gain knowledge on what is required to plan and execute a successful coastal fishing expedition.

Course Includes:

•  Certified Angler Instructor (CAI) & saltwater-experienced led class instruction.
•  Full-day deep-sea fishing excursion from Morehead City aboard the Carolina Princess (Saturday).
•  Classroom instruction with tips, area resources, and networking lessons (Friday evening & Sunday).

Learning Outcomes:

•  How to plan a successful coastal camping trip for your unit.
•  Identify qualified deep-sea charter boats.
•  Understand required licensing and fish creel limits.

Cost:

• $400 per person

Event Fee Includes:

•  2 nights of lodging at the Morehead City Holiday Inn (2 adults per room).
•  Full-day charter boat fee and gratuity
• Training materials and supplies
• Saturday lunch
• Long-sleeve fishing shirt
• Charter fee includes:
  • A full day of deep water fishing
  • Bait and tackle
  • Fishing license
  • Crew assistance
  • Fish cleaning and on-board food from the galley are extra

Meals:

• Friday supper: Eat before you arrive
• Saturday breakfast: Fast food en route to the fishing boat 
• Saturday lunch: Provided by the training team 
• Saturday supper: Out with the group, on your own
• Sunday breakfast: Included with room reservation
• Sunday lunch: On your own after the training adjourns

Paperwork Required for Everyone:

• Pre-event medical screening checklist
• BSA Health Form with Parts A, B1, B2 completed within the past 12 months
