Open to all ages. You can enter the official 5K Race to be eligible for prizes and recognition or choose to walk/jog just for fun! All are welcome.

T-shirts may be available to purchase during the event with limited quantities. 

Purpose: 
The 5k is a trail run on the Mattatuck Scout Reservation, named after long-time volunteer Joe LeClair Jr (Big Joe). All profits from this event will go towards the Thomas J. Horan scholarship, which the Mattatuck Volunteers award annually to deserving staff members continuing their post-high school education and training, whether at a trade school, professional certificate program, or college.

The scholarship is given in honor of our long-time Camp Director, Thomas "Tom" J. Horan. The race starts at 10:00 am, and runners/walkers will receive a snack voucher; spectators can purchase food from our concessions, and our Trading Post will be open for racers/walkers and spectators alike. Greystone Racing will time and officiate the race.
