Klondike Derby Informational Meetings for Adult Leaders

Date: Thursday, December 21 at 7 pm

An optional informational meeting for adult leaders. We will give a general overview of

the event, the day of check in process and answer questions.

Klondike Derby Preparation Meeting for Scouts

at District Round Table

Location: Conard High School, 110 Beechwood Rd, West Hartford

Date: Tuesday, January 14 at 7 pm

This preparation meeting, held during the monthly District Roundtable, will review Klondike rules and safety procedures. We will also give a general overview of winter clothing and equipment requirements and winter first aid. It is the responsibility of each Troop to do their own in-depth training to ensure that their scouts are prepared to safely participate in this event. Attendance by one adult Troop leader and one senior Scout from each Unit participating in the event is required. Additional Patrol members may attend to ensure that each participating Patrol will have one or more trained members

Klondike Derby Map & Compass Prep

Location: to be determined

Date: Thursday, January 16 at 7 pm

An optional meeting for Scouts. We will give some training on how to plot a course using Klondike style distances and bearings.
