Stamp Collecting Merit Badge - August 15 & 16, 2024

Stamp Collecting Merit Badge is being offered in two sessions at the Great American Stamp Show (GASS) at the Connecticut Convention Center on August 15th and 16th.  Scouts only need to attend one session.  There is no cost for this merit badge offering.  All materials and stamps to earn the merit badge will be provided.

The sessions will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.  Scouts are asked to arrive early.  Scouts only need to attend one session, not both.

The Connecticut Convention Center is located at 100 Columbus Boulevard, Hartford, CT 06103.

Scouts should be in their Class A Uniform, bring a lunch, water bottle, and a Blue Card.  

Stamp Collecting Merit Badge is being offered at no cost to the Scouts.  There is no admission charge to the Great American Stamp Show.  In addition to registering for the merit badge via the Connecticut Rivers Council, Scouts will be asked to register with the American Philatelic Society for the GASS.  Details on the GASS registration will be sent to the Scouts after registering for the merit badge with the Connecticut Rivers Council.

Prerequisites.  There are prerequisites that are preferred to be completed in advance of the merit badge session. It will make the merit session a little smoother.  Prerequisites will be sent out to participants in advance after they register for the merit badge.

Scouts need to register for the Merit Badge via the Connecticut Rivers website.
