Welcome to BALOO training! It is the Cub Scout leader training required for any Cub Scout den or pack outdoor event, including pack camping overnighters and Webelos  den overnighters. 

This will be held Saturday April 27th 8:00 a.m. Check in until Sunday approximately 12:00p.m. The overnight is required per the BALOO syllabus provided by BSA National. 

This program conveniently partners with the Charter Oak and Camp Workcoeman Covered Wagon Event for Cub Scouts. Combined is an opportunity with enough adult partnership to have one leader parent participate in Baloo Training if another parent/eligible adult partner can enjoy the Covered wagon with their cub(s). A pack might be able to get a couple leaders trained in BALOO while the pack simulataneously participates in the Covered Wagon. Leaders in the BALOO program have the option to return to their family/pack to sleep the night but must return to training in the morning. 

• This training is provided by Charter Oak Training Staff and open to participants from any District or Council. BALOO training is comprised of two components—an online component and a practical,  hands-on component. Both components must be completed to qualify as a “TRAINED”  Cub Scout outdoor leader. The online component, "Intro to BALOO", must be completed prior to the practical component. The online training contains introductory and basic information that will be built upon during the practical training
• "Hazardous weather", which is also online course number SCO_800 is required prior to the practical training at Camp 
•  "Position Specific Training", also available online, is recommended. It sets the pace for the course if all are on the same page when we begin. 
• You will need Short Term Camping Medical forms completed for Check in. (Attached to this posting, see "attachments"
