Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills - IOLS @ Workcoeman

Event Details

New Scouts BSA Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters should take this training as it teaches participants how to conduct outdoor camping experiences successfully and safely. Participants  learn how to build a fire, use an ax, cook outdoors, use a map and compass, responsibly care for nature, and much more. Participants will be able to then apply these skills to guide Scouts back at their home troops.

This is a three day, two night experience–camping overnight for both nights is required, along with participation for the entire weekend. Participants are responsible for bringing their own camping gear and will work with other participants to shop for meals. This course combined with youth protection training and the Scoutmaster Specific Training course (offered on April 1st) will make you a ‘fully trained’ Scoutmaster.

Participants must be at least eighteen years of age, be registered adult members of the BSA and have completed youth protection training.
