Event Details

Where: Sunrise Park, Suffield CT

When: November 14th 7:30 AM

**** PLEASE NOTE****  Due to the recent COVID spike in Connecticut, this event has been switched to a day event only.  The Course will now run 7:30 AM-8:00 PM.

BALOO

BALOO consists of two components: online and hands-on. You’ll need to complete both — in order — to qualify as a “Trained” Cub Scout outdoor leader and receive the BALOO recognition patch.

Leaders who complete BALOO training are better prepared to plan pack den or pack overnight events.

You’ll learn how to make camping activities and outings fun. You’ll discover how to keep your Cub Scouts safe and entertained. And you’ll learn how to plan an event that’s rooted firmly in Cub Scouting’s principles.

Successful experiences in the outdoors make Cub Scouts — and their parents — more likely to keep coming back.

Who Should Attend: Cubmasters, Cub Scouts and Webelos Den leaders who need to learn the outdoor skills needed for Pack and Webelos Adventure camping. At least one leader is required to complete this training for any Pack camping activity

IOLS

Working as patrols, this hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain the First Class rank. Along with Scoutmaster Specifics this course is required of all direct contact leaders registered in Boy Scout Troops in order to be considered “trained”

Who Should Attend: Boy Scout Leaders this is required training for your role as a Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster
