2-Day Citizenship Experience at Camp Mattatuck

2-DAY CITIZENSHIP EXPERIENCE AT CAMP MATTATUCK

Location: Mattatuck Scout Reservation 

Dates: Monday, August 10, 2026 - Tuesday, August 11, 2026

Eligibility: Open to all registered Scouts BSA youth members. Scouts must choose from two of the following three badges to focus on for the two days:
Citizenship in the Community
Citizenship in the Nation
Citizenship in the World

Cost: 

$70.00 (Includes all instructional sessions and day activities)

Prerequisites & Required Preparation
Due to the nature of these merit badges, certain requirements cannot be completed in a camp setting (such as attending local government meetings or independent research). Completion of the merit badges at camp is strictly dependent on the prior completion of these prerequisites. They are as follows:

For Citizenship in the Community: Requirements 3a and 4b

For Citizenship in the Nation: Requirements 5 and 7

For Citizenship in the World: No Prerequisites

Required Documentation
Applications for Merit Badge: Scouts must have a physical Application for Merit Badge (commonly known as a "blue card" signed by their Scoutmaster for each of the two badges they intend to take).
Medical Forms: A complete Annual Health and Medical Record, including Parts C and D, is required for this event.


What to Bring

Signed Applications for Merit Badge ("blue cards")
Completed prerequisite paperwork/evidence of completed requirements.
Notebook, pens, and pencils
