For Scoutmasters, Asst. Scoutmasters, Webelos Den Leaders, Troop Committee Chairs and Members, Charter Organization Reps and/or parents attending outings.

REGISTRATION FEE - $35 if registered before the course. $40 day of course

This training covers the basics for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters. However, the course is for all Adult Scout Leaders and Parents. The Troop Leader Guide book, Volume 1, and indoor session lunch are included in the course fee.

If not taken elsewhere, this course is MANDATORY prior to taking the South Council Outdoor Leader Skills course the weekend of October 10-12, 2025.

Important Note: If you have taken the generic, online course, this in-classroom course will provide much more in-depth training information to build your skills upon, including discussions with Trained Leaders with decades of experience, Training Materials, Preparation and Patrol Planning time for the Outdoor Leader Skills training course, Morning Coffee & Snacks, and Lunch!  

In addition to what you may have learned with the online training, you will learn or receive more in-depth of training in the following essential areas to be an effective trained leader for our youth:
