Scouting America Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor Course
(Formerly called the Leave No Trace Trainer Course)
Get ready to elevate your outdoor skills with the Leave No Trace Course! Whether you're a Scouter (18+) looking to become a Level 1 Leave No Trace Instructor or a Scout (First Class, 14+) eager to enhance your outdoor ethics knowledge, this course is for you. Over an action-packed weekend at Camp Chesebrough, participants will receive hands-on instructor training from experienced Instructors, gaining the skills to teach and promote responsible outdoor practices.
Scouters who complete the 16-hour overnight course will earn a nationally recognized certification as a Level 1 Instructor*, allowing them to lead the Scouting America Leave No Trace Skill Course and qualify others for the LNT Outdoor Ethic certification. Scouts and Scouters opting for the Skills Course will gain valuable experience and earn their LNT Outdoor Ethic Pin, a key step for those working toward the National Medal for Outdoor Achievement or serving as Outdoor Ethics Guides. *Instructor 16 hours required to have a 2 hours online course on February 28, 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:PM. This is in addition the weekend instruction.

Participants receive: Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor card from Scouting America, Scouting America Leave No Trace Basics Course Guide, Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor certificate from Leave No Trace, and other Leave No Trace teaching resources.
When: 2 hour zoom on Feb 28 + March 8 - March 9 instruction and camping. Starting at 8 AM Saturday and ending by 12 PM on Sunday.
Make sure to bring your camping gear. All meals and utensils/plates will be provided.
