Coin Collecting Merit Badge Workshop Spring 26

Unlock the history and value hiding in your change! Join expert numismatists from the Cupertino Coin Club for an exciting workshop at 1900 The Alameda STE 100, San Jose where you can earn your Coin Collecting Merit Badge. Learn how to build your collection, complete requirements with hands-on guidance, and even sign up for a free 1-year membership to the American Numismatic Association! Scouts must arrive prepared with a signed Blue Card, a completed workbook, and the specific coins needed for Requirements 4 & 7. Don't just spend your change, come and learn why it makes "cents" to collect it!

Complete Requirement 7.d by attending Cupertino Coin Club’s meeting Fri, Jan 9 or Feb 13,
7:30-9pm, at St Joseph of Cupertino Church, 10110 N De Anza Blvd, Cupertino, or Cupertino
Coin Club’s annual coin show, Sun, April 26, 10am-5pm at St Joseph of Cupertino Church,
10110 N De Anza Blvd, Cupertino. Scouts should be in Class A uniform for workshop, club meeting, or coin show attendance.

Prerequisites:

  • Bring a physical Blue Card signed by your Scoutmaster. (We are not using Scoutbook or Scoutbook+.)
  •  Read the Coin Collecting Merit Badge pamphlet, complete & bring your filled-in workbook. Use Workbook here to complete the requirements.
  •  To get sign-off on the Blue Card, each Scout needs to collect and bring the coins required for Requirements 4 and 7, if 7.a, b, or c are selected, to show the Merit Badge Counselor. Coins can be obtained from change or a financial institution (bank).
  • Although we will go over the requirements in the workshop, Scouts should be prepared to demonstrate knowledge for Requirements 1 - 7.
  • Bring a notebook and pen or pencil.
  • A prepared Scout will be able to complete this Merit Badge by the end of the workshop.
  • Attendees can sign up for a free 1-year youth membership with the American
    Numismatic Association (ANA) when they complete the merit badge!
