Celebrate World Wide Scouting Event JOTA JOTI with us at Los Gatos Youth Park.  There will be Ham Radio and computer stations to connect with Scouts around the World, games and crafts, International Scouting information and Cultural activities, and an opportunity for Scouts to earn the Radio Merit Badge.

This event is free and open to all youth and adults, including Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, and adult leaders. It's a fantastic opportunity to use ham radios and computers to chat with Scouts worldwide while enjoying games, crafts, and cultural activities. This makes a great event for Packs or troops to enjoy a fun event and learn more about Scouting around the world!

For those interested in earning their Radio Merit Badge is available for an additional $10 registration fee

Scouts must bring their completed drawings/sketches for the following three requirements. A merit badge counselor cannot sign off on these requirements without physically reviewing the Scout's work, so please have them done and in hand — not just started — before arriving:

Electromagnetic Spectrum Chart (Req. 2A) — Draw a chart covering 300 kHz to 3,000 MHz; label the MF, HF, VHF, UHF, and microwave bands; mark at least 8 radio services (e.g., AM/FM broadcast, CB, TV, amateur radio — 4+ bands, police/fire, cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth)

Wave Propagation Sketch (Req. 3A) — Sketch a diagram showing how different radio wavelengths can travel locally or around the world

Radio Station Block Diagram (Req. 5B) — Draw a block diagram showing: microphone, speaker, transceiver, transmitter, receiver, amplifier, feedline, antenna

Target requirements: Please update to modules 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8A, 9 (Requirement 8A will be completed after the presentation. Scouts will have hands-on time with actual amateur radio equipment).

Event is open to  youth and adults of all ages! Merit badge is for Scouts BSA youth members only.
