Older Youth Adventure Week
Older Youth Adventure Week at Camp Hi-Sierra is built for Scouts ages 14 to 21 who want more challenge, more independence, and experiences you will not find during a regular summer camp session. From advanced shooting sports to real rock climbing to a youth-planned adventure day at Pinecrest, this week is active, hands-on, and built around you.
What You Will Do
Spend the week rotating through advanced shooting sports, including rifle, shotgun, archery, cowboy action, and specialty activities based on range availability. Learn real climbing skills and practice lead climbing techniques at camp.
Midweek, you and your crew will plan and execute your own Pinecrest adventure within staff guidelines. You will build the plan, pitch it, and carry it out.
And yes, you still get campfires, observatory nights, black powder shooting, board games, and time with friends.
What Parents and Leaders Should Know
This program is open to all registered Scouts ages 13 to 21. It is a provisional program, meaning participants can work toward merit badges and rank advancement during the week.
The instructor ratio is three Scouts per instructor, so participants receive focused, quality instruction throughout the program.
Adults are welcome as additional supervisors, but this is a youth-led experience. Scouts are expected to take ownership of their learning, decision-making, and adventure planning throughout the week.
Pricing- Bus Transportation to and from Camp Hi-Sierra is available.
Early Bird Pricing (Until 4/15) $725/youth, with bus $800
Regular Pricing (Until 5/15) $775/youth, with bus $825
Late Pricing (after 5/15) $825/youth, with bus $900
Adult $400, Supervisory Adult Role $250
