Placer District Merit Badge Fair

Please join us for our first District Merit Badge Fair. We have a range of interesting badges lined up. Program starts at 8:30 with light breakfast.
First session: 9am-12pm Lunch 12pm-1pm Second Session 1-4.
The Order of the Arrow is serving lunch as a fundraiser. Bring some bucks. Or Scouts can bring their own lunch. If you plan on purchasing lunch from OA and have special dietary needs, please note in the registration.
Choose your classes. Select a morning and afternoon class. If your class has a morning and afternoon session you must attend both sessions.
Classes can be chosen in the "Update Information" for the scout.

Prerequisites:
Blue card signed by a unit leader required for all badges
Cybersecurity: Required Pre-Work (Must Be Completed Before Class):
1. Requirement 1(a): Watch the Personal Safety Awareness “Digital Safety” video with a parent or guardian.

• Watch the video with a parent or guardian, as required by BSA.
Additional Prep Activity (Bring to Class):
2. Create a list of the top 5 apps you use most.
• Be ready to discuss why you use them and what privacy/security settings you have enabled
Search & Rescue: Research three jobs in the SAR field for discussion
Nature: No Prerequisites
Weather: Before class complete requirements 10a, 11, and 12
Environmental Sc: Printout and bring the worksheet from usscouts.org. Do requirements 1,2, and 11. Be prepared to discuss Nos. 3 through 9. Counselor will provide the scenario for No. 10 on site.
Signals & Codes: Bring a notebook and pencil. There will be a 1 mile hike, wear appropriate shoes.
Safety: Before class complete requirements 2d,e and f; 3b and 9a.
