GEC Shooting Sports Training Card

This mandatory training to receive a Golden Empire Council Shooting Sports Training Card is for any adult/youth attending a shooting event that will have an archery, shotgun, rifle range at any Scouts BSA, Venturing, SeaScout GEC Event/GEC Summer Camp. The range instructors request this training card to be shown at their ranges, which lets them know that the participant has been given formal BSA mandatory range safety training. Each range instructor also gives a safety briefing before shooting on their range.

 This 30-minute training per discipline (i.e. archery, rifle, shotgun,) teaches safety range rules and safe handling of each piece of equipment.

The training card is like a totem chip and is good until a person loses the card/or does something unsafe, then they must take the class over. As you know, there are no cutting corners off of a totem chip anymore as you must take the training over if you do something unsafe. It is the same for the white card.

8-9:30am, 10:00-11:30am, 12:00-1:30pm or 2:00-3:30pm

This training is free for all participants. Classes are taught by a NRA Rifle, Shotgun, Instructor and by a USA Archery Instructor.

There is No online registration but you must email Dennis-weiss@sbcglobal.net the date and time you want to attend along with the # of people attending.

If someone has earned their merit badge for any of the three disciplines, then we can sign off their white card with proof of completion.
