Sept 6-8, 2024  On the registration site it asks if you have an account or are a guest. A guest means you can't go back to continue where you left off, if you need to complete your registration at a different time. So we strongly suggest you make a account.  An order is not complete until you complete the payment process. Payment options: You can use credit card/mail in check/take a check to the council office.There are no holds on the registration if payment has not been done on or before 10 days from your registration date. Camp Lassen in Butte Meadows

Enjoy an all-inclusive weekend of Range & Target Sports fun! No merit badges will be worked on at this event. 

Before you register your unit/ or do an individual  registration you will need to know the participants shirt size, (Adult Sizes available-SM, Med, Lg, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL), if they have a signed White GEC Range & Target Sports training card, parents phone # & email address, and onsite leader information if scout is attending without a parent, district name, unit type and #, and food allergies.   

$120.00 per person

Staff and Instructors have a discounted fee for registration.

We need people to cook, help out on  Wed andThursday- Friday to setup ranges. We need people to help load the many trailers of equipment needed to bring to camp. We are all volunteers that make this a fun and safe event.  

Price includes; Friday night cracker barrel, (a cracker barrel is a light snack), Saturday meals, Saturday night cracker barrel, Sunday breakfast, T-shirt, patch, camping, prizes, goodie bags, great food, range supplies, and lots of fun!

If you attended before you know the food, prizes, and event was great! 

All equipment will be provided. No personal equipment allowed.

No siblings or Cub Scouts allowed at this event. (No exceptions)

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 2 DEEP REGISTERED LEADERSHIP PROVIDED FOR EACH UNIT.  Lone scouts must have an adult attend or come with a unit.  All adults must be BSA registered. 

Our Range & Target Sports Programs are valuable resources for helping young people develop self-confidence, personal discipline, responsibility, teamwork, self-esteem, and sportsmanship. The discipline and self-control required for responsible firearm use carry over into many other aspects of life.

All participants/staff/instructors must read and bring to check-in the following: (see attachments)

All minor youth must turn in a printed & signed parental shooting sports permission form, even if their parent is onsite/range. 

A Printed Medical Form AB for all youth, adults, instructors and staff    (Part C is not necessary.)

Camp site, arrival information, and other details will be emailed to you two weeks before the event. Plan on bringing your tent, sleeping gear and clothes based on the weekend weather. Everyone will be given an event t-shirt that must be worn on Saturday.  (If your unit wants to camp with another unit there is a place on the registration site to note the unit #) 

Registration will max at 300 participants and 50 instructors/staff. A waiting list will be available until Aug 1, 2024.

Instructors/RSO/Range helpers/staff can still register after Aug. 1  

Golden Empire Council Range & Target Sports Committee requires all youth and adults to earn a Golden Empire Council Shooting Sports Training Card for any GEC Event or GEC Summer Camp that will have an archery, shotgun, rifle, (As of Sept 1st 2024 the  BSA rules for pistols have changed, so there will be no pistols for this event this year. So have the use of .223/308 rifles so we won't be offering the high power rifles. )   The range instructors request this card to be shown at their ranges, which lets them know that the participant has been given formal BSA mandatory range safety training. Each range instructor also gives a safety briefing before using their range. If you have received a card  in the past, just bring it with you to each range. Remember to print out your card.. don't take the chance that your phone goes dead. No card no use of the range. 

This 2-hr. training includes training for all 4 disciplines (i.e. archery, rifle, shotgun) and teaches safety range rules and safe handling of each piece of equipment. The training card is like a totem chip and is good until a person loses the card/or does something unsafe, then they must take the class over.

Watch your emails and council website calendar for dates to be arranged for the white card trainings  in June-August. Contact Dennis-weiss@sbcglobal.net to arrange for a training session of 20+ people at a location you have arranged and a date that works for Dennis Weiss' calendar or ask your district shooting sports director to arrange a training.     

Patch Design Contest: We invite you to design our 2024 event patch. It can't have a pistol on the patch, must be no larger than 3.5x 3.5, can be round or square design. It should have Golden Empire Council Range & Target Event, September 6-8, 2024  Camp Lassen on the patch.  The winner of this contest will have 1st choice of anything on the prize table. Send your designs to dianeweissnotary@gmail.com before July 1, 2024.
