GEC Range & Target Sports Training Card

This mandatory training to receive a Golden Empire Council Range & Target Sports Training Card is for any adult/youth attending a range event that will provide an archery, shotgun, rifle and or (pistol for Adults/Scouts BSA, Venturing/Seascout)  program at any Golden Empire Council Scouts BSA, Venturing, SeaScout  Event/GEC Summer Camp. The range instructors request this training card to be shown at their ranges, which lets them know that the participant has been given formal BSA mandatory range safety training. Each range instructor also gives a safety briefing before shooting on their range.

 This 30-minute training per discipline (i.e. archery, rifle, shotgun, pistol) teaches safety range rules and safe handling of each piece of equipment.

The training card is like a totem chip and is good until a person loses the card/or does something unsafe, then they must take the class over.

Sunday March 24

Pick one Session Time: 10:00AM-12:30 OR 1-3:30pm

OR

Saturday March 30

Pick one Session Time: 8-10:30AM OR11:00-1:30, OR 1:30-4:00PM

One session includes 4 desciplines: archery, shotgun, rifle, and pistol (for adults and venturer/seascouts only) training.

This training is free for all participants. Classes are taught by a NRA Rifle, Shotgun, Pistol Instructor and by a USA Archery Instructor.
