Sept 8-10, 2023  On the registration site it asks if you have an account or are a guest. A guest means you can't go back to continue where you left off if you need to complete your registration at a different time. So we strongly suggest you make a account.  An order is not complete until you complete the payment process. There are no holds on the registration if payment has not been done.  Take a minute and read the instructions below. 

Camp Lassen in Butte Meadows

Enjoy an all-inclusive weekend of shooting sports fun! No merit badges will be worked on. 

Before you register your unit/individual you will need to know the scout's shirt size, (Sizes available-Adult SM, Med, Lg, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL), if they have a signed GEC Shooting Sports training card, parents phone # & email address, and onsite leader information if scout is attending without a parent, district name, unit type and #, and food allergies.   

$120.00 per person

Staff and Instructors have a discounted fee for registration.

We need people to cook, help out on Thursday afternoon and Friday setup. We are all volunteers that make this a fun and safe event.  

Price includes; Friday night cracker barrel, (a cracker barrel is a light snack), Saturday meals, Saturday night cracker barrel, Sunday breakfast, T-shirt, patch, camping, prizes, goodie bags, great food and lots of fun!

If you attended before you know the food, prizes, and event was great! 

All equipment will be provided. No personal equipment allowed.

No siblings or Cub Scouts allowed at this event. (No exceptions)

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 2 DEEP REGISTERED LEADERSHIP PROVIDED FOR EACH UNIT. New rules go inforce on Sept 1, 2023. See attached information. 

Our sports programs are valuable resources for helping young people develop self-confidence, personal discipline, responsibility, teamwork, self-esteem, and sportsmanship. The discipline and self-control required for responsible sports use carry over into many other aspects of life.

All participants/staff/instructors must read and bring to check-in the following: (see attachments)

All minor youth must turn in a printed & signed parental shooting sports permission form, even if their parent is onsite/range. 

A Printed Medical Form AB for all youth, adults, instructors and staff    (Part C is not necessary.)

Camp site, arrival information and other details will be emailed to you two weeks before the event. Plan on bringing your tent, sleeping gear and clothes based on the weekend weather. Everyone will be given an event t-shirt that must be worn on Saturday.  (If your unit wants to camp with another unit there is a place on the registration site to note the unit #) 

Registration will max at 300 shooting participants. A waiting list will be available until Aug 1, 2023.

Instructors/RSO/Range helpers/staff can still register.  

Golden Empire Council Shooting Sports Committee requires all youth and adults to earn a Golden Empire Council Shooting Sports Training Card for any GEC Event or GEC Summer Camp that will have an archery, shotgun, rifle, (pistol for Adults/Scouts BSA, Venturing/Seascout) range.  The range instructors request this card to be shown at their ranges, which lets them know that the participant has been given formal BSA mandatory range safety training. Each range instructor also gives a safety briefing before shooting on their range. If you have received a card already just bring it with you to each range. 

This 2-hr. training includes training for all 4 disciplines (i.e. archery, rifle, shotgun, pistol) and teaches safety range rules and safe handling of each piece of equipment. The training card is like a totem chip and is good until a person loses the card/or does something unsafe, then they must take the class over.

Watch your emails and council website for dates to be arranged for the white card trainings  in June-August. Contact Dennis-weiss@sbcglobal.net to arrange for a training session of 20+ people at a location you have arranged and a date that works for Dennis Weiss' calendar or ask your district shooting sports director to arrange a training.

You may trade another person for your registration slot, but you must contact Diane Weiss diane.weiss@gec-bsa.org 209-327-4752 or let her know if your are not available to come and we will see if we have someone on the waitlist. All changes and waitlist participants will be concluded on  Aug. 4, 2023.
