This mandatory training to receive a Golden Empire Council  Shooting Sports Training Card is for any Scouts BSA/Venturing/Sea Scouts (not cub scouts) adult/youth attending a shooting event that will have an archery, shotgun, rifle and (pistol for Adults/Scouts BSA, Venturing/Seascout) range at any Golden Empire Council Event/GEC Summer Camp. The range instructors request this training card to be shown at their ranges, which lets them know that the participant has been given formal BSA mandatory range safety training. Each range instructor also gives a safety briefing before shooting on their range.

 This 30-minute training per discipline (i.e. archery, rifle, shotgun, pistol) teaches safety range rules and safe handling of each piece of equipment.

The training card is like a totem chip and is good until a person loses the card/or does something unsafe, then they must take the class over.

9-10:30am, 11-12:30pm, 1-2:30pm or 3-4:30 pm

This training is free for all participants. Classes are taught by a NRA Rifle, Shotgun, Pistol Instructor and by a USA Archery Instructor.
