This years theme is "Drive Success!"
The University of Scouting is the Greater California Council's premier adult training event, designed to help Cub, Scout BSA, Venturer, Sea Scout Leaders, Parents, and Volunteers build the knowledge and skills needed to deliver an outstanding program for their youth.
This in-person-only event features a wide variety of courses tailored to every level of experience, offering practical training, fresh ideas, and valuable resources you can take back to your unit. Beyond the classroom, participants enjoy a day of fellowship, networking, sharing best practices, and connecting with fellow volunteers who are passionate about Scouting.
Whether you're new to Scouting or a seasoned leader, the University of Scouting provides an exciting opportunity to learn, grow, and strengthen your ability to deliver the best possible experience for the youth you serve.

Den Chief Training
Scout BSA, Venturer, and Sea Scouts interested in serving as a Den Chief should ideally be at a First-Class Scout rank level or higher to attend this 3 ½ hour training course (Sessions 1-4). As a Den Chief, you serve as role models for the Cub Scouts you mentor and represent the highest standards of leadership within the pack.
Den Chief Registration is $30.00 (with lunch option available $15.00 at registration) and will include a copy of the Den Chief training book, training cords, certificate, name tag, UOS patch, folder, paper, pen and UOS facility. The scout can sign up for any class in the 5th session to finish out the day. Den Chief's will need a medical form AB. The class limit is 24
Adult Investment
Adult Registration is $25.00 and you will receive a great program selection, University of Scouting Patch, a folder with paper, pen, handouts, the UOS facility, and a google drive location that will contain all the handouts or other items the instructors want to share. Also included are instructor activities, a campus map, and your schedule with classroom numbers. Be sure to check out the “Pit Stop Midway” where all our community partners will be showcasing the many activities you can participate in with your unit.
Check-in for everyone from 7:30AM-8:25AM will be in the multipurpose room. (Look for signs)
Line up by last name to pick up your folder that will include your schedule and map of the campus, paper, pen, patch and lunch ticket if you purchased a lunch at registration. Then proceed to the gym for our opening.
Instructors can check-in starting at 7:15AM in the mutipurpose room to pick up your folder and class schedule with map.
When registering, you will have the option to purchase a Togo’s Sandwich Box Lunch for an additional $15.00. Each box lunch includes:
Your choice of one sandwich with vegetables and wheat/white bread:
Roast Beef (no cheese)
Ham & Swiss Cheese
Turkey & Avocado (no cheese)
Turkey & Cheddar Cheese
Chicken & Cheddar Cheese
Cali Veggie & Provolone Cheese & Avocado
Bag of Lays potato chips
Chocolate Chip Cookie
Bottle of water
All condiments, pepperoncini’s, bottle of water, and napkins will be on the side.
The Order of the Arrow (OA) snack table will also have sodas, coffee, and hot chocolate available to purchase.
OR
bring your own lunch. There is nothing close to the school to purchase food and get back in time to enjoy the “Pit Stop Midway” the multiple community partners, the Scout Store and activities in the quad.
From 11:50AM-1:10PM please visit the “Pit Stop Midway” in the multipurpose room to visit with the variety of youth driven organizations that will support your scouting adventures. There will be additional activities in the quad.
Payments are made online at the time of registration. Course selections will be completed on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited to 20-28 participants per classroom requirements.
What do I bring?
Bring a water bottle, lunch (if you haven’t chosen the lunch option at registration), and snacks if needed. The Order of the Arrow will have a snack table with coffee, drinks and goodies to purchase. Most of the seats in the classroom are connected to the tables, so if you feel your frame may be more comfortable in a camping chair, please bring one. A wagon is good for transporting items.
Carpooling is strongly suggested so you can save on gasoline and have fun coming as a group of friends. Can you imagine sharing what you all learned on the way home?
***There is no childcare available, so please leave your younger children at home. This event is for adults. (Exception are scouts attending the Den Chief training.)
Onlne Registration will promptly close at 9:00pm on November 4 so register early to get the classes you want. We are expecting 300 people. We will NOT be taking walk-in registrations.

Information for discounted hotel room blocks are in the catalog for the Day's Inn and Residence Inn.

Instructors & Staff registration fee is $15.00 with optional Togo's box lunch $15.00.
Note: Instructors please only register the additional classes you want to attend, when you are not teaching. Don't include the class you are teaching to avoid taking an available participant’s slot.
