Council Properties Work Day

Help Improve the NorCal Adventure Area!
One of your Council Camps
Saturday. January 31, 8am to 5 pm
The NorCal Properties Committee want you to come to a Workday on the last Saturday of every month in 2026
Plan now and watch the Council Website and Regular Emails for Future Workday Info
Possible Projects for this Workday include:
Trimming brush at the water spring
Reconnect the spring water source
Check the spring water line for breaks
Burn downed wood
Move piles of cut wood to safe locations for future burning
Tack up insulation in the pump house
Replace roof wooden support posts with sturdy metal outside the Welcome Center
Replace a shower house door
Unclog various rain gutters (ladder work is not for Youth Members)
As you can see, there are many regular maintenance items that need attention.
We also need Cooks, Record Keeps, those with advanced first aid or medical training to fill out the roster
There is something for everyone – no experience needed – we’ll train you
As these are completed, more will be added next month.
Unfinished items will hold over to the next Volunteer Workday
Bring these Tools if you have them:
Pruning shears / saws
Jacks to lift heavy building supports
Wrenches, Hammers, Tape Measure, Pliers, Shovels, Gloves
Gutter Scoops
And of course, you AHMR, Parts A- B1, and B-2
Those who sign up will be emailed with more specific information, including at least:
Weather Conditions and suggested appropriate clothing
Whether it will be a 1-, 2-, or 3-day Work Party (depending on number of sign-ups and weather forecast)
We need 5 or more adults signed up before Wednesday, Jan 28 to hold this Workday.
Sleeping arrangements if extended more than one day
Generally, only 16 and older youth members may attend, but if you bring enough registered adults, there might be appropriate work for 14- or 15-year Scouts
All Safe Guarding Youth and Guide to Safe Scouting Policies are always in effect on the Workday(s)
