Sailing & Robotics Workshop Fridays - 2nd Trimester (Ages 7 to 15)

This workshop will be a combo class that offers robotics and engineering in the morning and sailing/aquatics in the afternoon. In the robotics workshop, students will learn engineering concepts and basic electronics by using motors, sensors, laptops and tablets, switches, remotes, and gears to create all sorts of fun machines such as a mechanical soccer leg, throwing arm, self-made battery powered vehicles, and much more through the entire year.
In the sailing/paddling workshop, students will learn the concepts of a sailboat and learn skills that will help them navigate their boat around beautiful Newport Harbor! There will also be paddling activity days with kayaks and or stand up paddle boards with occasional fishing outings offered as well throughout the year. Program is available to youth ages 7-15. Swim check will be completed on a student's first day.

*Mark your calendar and sign up for all 3 trimesters for the school year: Sept-Dec, Jan-Mar, April-May.
This session runs from 9:30am to 2:30pm every Friday from January 10th to March 14th.
*REGISTRATION NOTE: If you are using charter funds, you will need to register and send us an enrichment certificate or purchase order per trimester by the first day of class with Newport Sea Base. Students are expected to attend this program the entire trimester. Students need to register for the next trimester to continue.
