2023 Fall National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) 

National Youth Leadership Training is an exciting, 6-day (fall course is held over two weekends November 3-5 & 10-12, 2023), action-packed program designed for to provide youth members with a unified approach to develop proven leadership skills and experience they can use in their Scouts BSA Troops, Venturing Crews, Sea Scout Ships, schools and the world beyond.

NYLT integrates the best of modern leadership with the traditional strengths of Scouting. The course centers around the concepts of what a leader must BE, what they must KNOW, and what they must DO. The key skill based elements are then taught with a clear focus on HOW TO. The classroom skills come alive during the course’s outdoor activities and graduating Leadership Challenge. 

Prerequisites:

  • Must be at least 13 years old prior to start of course.
  • Earn First Class Rank by October 15th (Scouts BSA)
  • Complete a week-long Summer Camp
  • Have Unit Leader’s approval to attend NYLT
  • Complete the ILST (recommended)

This Course will be held over two Weekends, November 3-5 & 10-12, 2023 at Oso Lake Scout Camp.

Scouts MUST attend BOTH Weekends in their entirety.
