BIG BOAT SAILING
Level 1 - Beginner

In this BEGINNER sailing class, you will use your seamanship skills on our fleet of 30 ft. keel boats. You will learn to navigate using a nautical chart, utilize roller furlers and lazy jacks, anchor for an afternoon swim, and master the physics that allow winches to handle lines under heavy loads. Sailors will hone these skills both inside Newport Harbor and along the coast in the open ocean. Most importantly, you will learn to travel safely and have a great time on the sea! 2 week class duration; Mon-Fri - every day is fun new experience!

PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of Sailing 2 or equivalent. Swim check required.

Sessions run from 1:30pm to 5:00pm Monday - Friday.

• Weeks 2-3: June 15th - June 26th 
• Weeks 6-7: July 13th - July 24th

Mandatory swim check on first day of camp. 

BSA Health Form AB is required and must be turned in at check-in.
