What: The events raise money for the DVGC Legacy Fund: Click here to learn more about the DVGC Legacy Fund. In our 26 year history we have provided over $95,000 in financial contributions to the Maury Clancy Indian Campership Fund and support the Endowment of the Order of the Arrow and other Scouting Scholarship funds.

Double Vigil Golf Classic (DVGC): An 18-Hole tournament focusing on fellowship in a relaxed atmosphere. This is a casual golf outing – although a shirt with a collar is required please, no scouting uniforms.  Age requirement: must be 21 or older.

OA Shootin': A Sporting Clay shotgun range event on Sunday morning limited to the first 32 people who register.  Format will be 4-person teams, each with at least one experienced Marksman. Hosted by Larry Abbott, former Grand Canyon Council CEO/Scout Executive.

Golf: Arizona Grand Resort, Phoenix, Arizona

Post-Golf Hosted Dinner: Home of Mike & Maggie Hoffman, Scottsdale, Arizona

Sporting Clay: Rio Salado Sportsman's Club, Mesa, Arizona

When:

Golf: Saturday, January 24, 2026. The tournament tees off at 8:00amAll participants must arrive no later than 7:15am for tournament registration. Boxed lunches will be provided before the event.

Post-Golf Hosted Dinner: Saturday, January 24, 2026.  6:00-9:00pm with dinner served at 7:00pm.

Sporting Clay: Sunday, January 25, 2026, with required safety briefing at 9:00am.

Who: Participation in both events is open to anyone and you are encouraged to bring non-scouting friends. The golf tournament and post-golf dinner are strictly age 21 and over.  Scouting membership is not required. All proceeds from these tournaments are donated in support of Scouting Legacy Programs as administered through the Order of the Arrow. Click here to learn more about the DVGC Legacy Fund.

Cost:

Golf: For the 2026 tournament, the individual registration fee is $200.00 per player - an individual registration fee includes: 18-holes of golf, cart fee, practice balls for warm-up, player gift, tournament awards, coffee & pastries, and boxed lunch. The $200 registration only covers event operating expenses. The majority of the DVGC tournament proceeds are raised through upper level registrations, Hole Sponsorships, general donations and the sale of mulligans, paint sticks and raffle tickets. We welcome and appreciate your participation at any level, however if you are able please consider entering at a higher sponsorship level and purchasing mulligans, paint sticks or raffle tickets.

Double Vigil Level Sponsor - $1,000: Entrance for a team of four, plus a Hole Sponsorship.
Vigil Level Sponsor - $500: Entrance for two players plus a Hole Sponsorship
Brotherhood Level Sponsor - $250: Entrance for one player plus a Hole Sponsorship
Ordeal Level Sponsor - $200: Entrance for one player

Mulligans: Essentially they are do-overs, each member of a team has the opportunity to purchase two mulligans for ten-dollars; they can be used at anytime to repeat any shot.

Paint Sticks: Each member of the team has the opportunity to purchase a paint-stick for ten-dollars; each paint stick can be used once during the round to improve the lie of the ball by the length of the paint stick even if it places the ball in the hole.

Raffle Tickets: A raffle will be held after the conclusion of golfing.

Extra Sponsor Opportunities:  Limited extra sponsors and naming recognition are available.  Please inquire if there is something not listed you would like to sponsor.

Sporting Clay: For 2026, the cost is $200 and up (depending on your Sponsorship level) and includes 100 ammo rounds, shotgun, supplies, and contribution to the DVGC Legacy Fund.

Marksman: $200 (Individual Entry)Includes name on sponsor signage (displayed at registration & awards)

Double Barrel: $350 (Entry for 2 shooters)Includes name on sponsor signage (displayed at registration & awards)Includes name on tournament score card

Sharpshooter Posse: $700 (Entry for a team of 4 shooters)Includes name/logo on sponsor signage (displayed at registration & awards)Includes name/logo on tournament score card
